Britvic Announcement Deeply Disappointing
Robin Newton East Belfast DUP MLA has expressed deep disappointment at the latest jobs losses declared by long established company Britvic.
Robin Newton said,
"This is another bad blow for East Belfast and following on from the very recent Hughes Christensen announcement will very badly hit this part of the city.
Behind this notice of up to 50 job losses are the human stories of husbands, wives, partners and children and potential future hardships. The job statistics mask the difficulties that will occur and government needs to ensure all the help that is available in this type of situation is offered to the employees and the company.
Providing support to the employee is the role of the Department of Employment and Learning and I am calling on Minister Empey to make sure this assistance is provided."
