DUP Moving Northern Ireland Forward
EAST Belfast DUP MLA Robin Newton speaking at an information evening for East Belfast election workers said that the DUP is the only political party with the strategic plan, vision and commitment to move Northern Ireland forward to a better society for all of its citizens.
Robin Newton said,
“As we prepare for and rapidly head towards the General Election the DUP is the only party that gives the electorate genuine leadership. We have witnessed the confusion and chaos within the UUP over the past week. The UUP can be likened to a ship that is rudderless and without a captain. Their sole MP has abandoned them and taken to an independent lifeboat, a high ranking North Down MLA has jumped ship and the UUP Mayor of Antrim has slated the Tory partnership; confirming he won’t be holding the tiller for the joint UUP/Tory South Antrim candidate. The pact with the Tory party is a disaster of titanic proportions and rapidly sinking into the abyss.
On the other hand we have the TUV who are intent on further splitting the unionist vote and delivering a Sinn Fein First Minister. They claim to have real and meaningful policies; however, all we hear from Mr Allister is attack after attack on DUP members.
Only the DUP is able to carry the unionist standard and only the DUP is able to fight the cause for Unionism in the House of Commons. The DUP is the only party to offer strong and effective leadership to the electorate at a time when real leadership is needed. The DUP is moving Northern Ireland forward.”
