ROBIN Newton East Belfast DUP MLA, Junior Minister in the Office of the First Minister and Deputy Minister, has urged all sections of the Northern Ireland community to respond to the Cohesion, Sharing and Integration (CSI) recently launched draft consultation document. Robin Newton said,

“It is vitally important that all sections of the community take the opportunity to reply, what ever portion they represent, big or small businesses, business groups, community groups, tenants’ organisations, charitable organisations, school principals or parents group’s etc. this document and the evolving legalisation is important for our future potential and prospects.

Under the devolved administration we have entered a new and hopeful period within our history. Our vision for this new era is that we can build a shared and better future for all. We can only do this if we all share the benefits of a more peaceful society.

Government is, through this draft document, stepping up to the challenge of leadership. It is up the entire community to respond within the consultation period making their views known. A response from those communities regarded as hard to reach is especially important. The inner city and large estates across the province areas that are suffering from unacceptable levels deprivation need to clearly set out their viewpoints and opinions.

I want to see a peaceful and secure future for all our people. The challenges ahead will be difficult for all of us, especially with Tory/Lib Dem cuts on the horizon. However, by pulling together we can build better opportunities and secure a successful and prosperous Northern Ireland we can all be proud of.”
