ROBIN Newton East Belfast DUP MLA has described the attempted murder bid on the Lower Newtownards Road as a cowardly and despicable act.

Robin Newton said,

“There can be no justification for this gutless act. Whatever prompted the attempted murder bid the person or persons involved must be caught and brought before the courts.

Anyone prepared to carry out such a reckless act is a danger to the public and deserves the full weight of the law.

I am appealing to anyone who has information to help the police so those guilty can be taken before the courts.”
