Carjacking Carried Out By Cowards
ROBIN Newton East Belfast DUP MLA and a member of the Policing Board has slammed the two men who threatened a woman and hijacked her car on Saturday afternoon on the Newtownards Road as craven cowards.
Robin Newton said,
“This violent hijacking will be a difficult experience for the lone female victim and I hope she makes a full recovery. Those who carried out this attack can only be described as the lowest of the low given that the targeted victim was defenceless against armed men.
This is another violent crime that when the thugs are caught and taken before the courts should merit the heaviest possible sentence.
I do not believe this incident was carried out by local East Belfast criminals. Rather since the car was driven towards the city centre it is likely the same gang operating in the south and north of the city have extended their operations.
The PSNI need the help of the public to tackle these incidents and I appeal for anyone who has even the smallest piece of information to contact the police.”
