Friends Of Belmont Park Meet The StandardALDERMAN ROBIN Newton East Belfast DUP MLA .has extended his congratulations to the Friends of Belfast Park group who in a close working relationship with Belfast City Council have been awarded Green Flag status for the park.
Robin Newton said,
“This is an excellent achievement and there is no doubt that the council employees and the Friends group working together have made a real difference to Belmont Park.
The improvements are witnessed by increased numbers using the park and the overall appearance has been greatly enhanced.
Belmont Park had some difficulties for a period of time with graffiti and damage to park property and shrubbery. This has been dramatically reduced and the whole neighbourhood has benefitted. This is a good news story and everyone involved deserves the thanks of local residents for their hard work in gaining the award. I welcome the work being done in Orangefield Park by the Friends group and look forward to congratulating them as they attain the standard in the future”
