Newton Welcomes New Homes And Playground For Ballybeen

ROBIN Newton East Belfast DUP MLA has welcomed the proposal from Choice Housing Association to provide new homes and a children’s playground in Ballybeen.

Robin Newton said,

“Day by day in my constituency office their need for a home or a transfer to more appropriate housing is raised by my constituents.

I therefore welcome this proposal by Choice Housing for new build homes in the much sought after  Ballybeen area. It is encouraging the Northern Ireland Housing Executive is also supporting this proposed housing scheme.

Although not a large development, 19 family homes with 2 bedrooms and 2 bungalows with 3 bedrooms for those with complex health needs, it is none the less 21 much needed homes and an essential step forward for the area.

The proposal also includes a joint venture with Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council to provide a children’s’ playground. I have raised the need for play facilities in Ballybeen with the Council’s Chief Executive and it is pleasing to see this positive response.

The new build homes and the play facility should be seen as a springboard and give confidence to developers and Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council to consider further investment in Ballybeen.”
