Changed Times for Belfast Hotels

“This is a great news story for Belfast and Northern Ireland demonstrating the huge incline in retail, hospitality and tourism in the city. Those who say times have not changed must have more than their head buried in the sand.
We have witnessed the opening of the Victoria Square complex and all across Belfast we can see the cranes and scaffolding signifying a time of great success and prosperity. This type of success has been unrivalled in our generation.
There is more hospitality development work planned within the city and I will be working with the City Council and the Assembly to ensure that targets contained within our Programme for Government are achieved. For decades the potential within Belfast and Northern Ireland has been smothered with political instability however today this Deloitte report proves just how much society has changed in one decade. Gone are the days when Belfast hotels are only in the news as a result of a bombing, today they are leading the way across Europe.
As elected representatives we must work collectively to ensure that the next decade can bring the same level of success within the Province.”
