ROBIN Newton East Belfast DUP MLA has described the level of vandalism within the area of the Clara Street children’s play park as deeply disappointing.

Robin Newton said,

“At a time when the children are off school this facility should be available for them and their parents and grandparents to enjoy. Unfortunately there are those who are only interested in vandalising and costing the ratepayers large sums of money. This comes at a time when the Council’s budget is very tight and when vandalism costs are of necessity passed onto the ratepayers.

I will lobby Belfast City Council to make good the destruction. However, parents also have a responsibility to ensure that such a first-rate resource is protected and available for all the youngsters to benefit from.”
